| Become A Mentor |
Become A MentorWhy be a mentor? For the simple, altruistic joy of helping young entrepreneurs grow and thrive. What types of people should mentors be?Successful Entrepreneurs, Lawyers, Accountants, PR folks, Presentation coaches, and other members of the entrepreneurial support community, even academics who have started companies or tech transfer professionals. What is the time commitment of a mentor per week?Mentors will be available for assignment to teams in the beginning of the Winter competition from January 2008 until the end of the Spring competition in May 2008. The weekly commitment of a mentor, is ultimately up to the agreement between mentors and their teams. However, we recommend a total of 1-2 hours a week in terms of emails, phone calls, and face-to-face time with their teams. How many teams can a mentor be assigned to?At least one, but up to as many as they have time to meet. Some mentors may have time for more teams than others. A busy executive might be stretched to connect with just one team. Can there be multiple levels of commitment?Mentors can attend all events to network with teams, participate at workshops, and speak at an event. Can a mentor also be a sponsor?Yes. We would love to have you participate, please contact Director of Mentorship |
